Classic and Vintage Cars - Intro
The Classic and Vintage Cars Library contains many photos for and by vintage and classic cars enthusiasts and collectors. There are 880 pictures on the site for you to browse through.
On the Classic and Vintage Cars site we use the following definition on 'classic car': A car is a wheeled vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Only cars of which production ended more than 25 years ago are considered 'classic' on this site (so all excluding the modern era). For example: Ford Escort Mark II is a classic (production ended 1980), Mark III won't qualify until 2011 as production continued until 1986.
Enjoy the classic cars and use the many ways of browsing the images on this site; the tabs on this home page will make a good start. You can watch a slideshow of the latest pictures, have a look at a random selection, view the latest pictures or the latest comments or quick start uploading your own photos. And note the thumbnails on the right, they will show you either the latest pictures or other relevant cars!
And you can use the menu at the top that allows you to 'drill down' and browse by album, manufacturer, country, year, specific group and even by contributor. You can try the simple search facility at the top right. Tip: Use the Additions option in the topmenu to see all the changes since your last visit or to see all the photos and comments of the last couple of days!
When viewing the pictures you can leave your own comments using the form at the foot of each page. In this way we hope to build up an extensive collection of information, reminiscences and anecdotes. There are 149 comments on the site at present. Please note that only posts in English can be accepted.
You are also able to make your own album of the images (your favourites of the photos on the site) and make this publically available if you wish. Use the My Album link at the bottom. To have a look at other visitors' albums click on the Visitors option at the top menu.
