The vehicle is a Jowett Jupiter they were made in Idle near Bradford between 1950 and 1954 and the total number built was a mere 900. They were powered by a 1486cc ohv engine and had quite some success in motor sport with a 1950 Le Mans Win and Class 1-2 in the 1951 Monte Carlo. One of my School Teacher's had one in exactly the same British Racing Green.
Hi Richard and Roger, I see the connection with TR2 but I think Roger is probably right with the Jowett Jupiter. I have just searched the web, wonderful thing the web, and found a picture of one from much the same angle as my photo. It does look to be the same. Now if only it will come by again when I am ready for it. Thanks chaps.
